The article asks who would buy an Avenger, the answer is someone with terrible credit, needs a low payment and needs a new car.

Wow. 2 people made a bad choice.

What?
![]() 07/13/2018 at 12:30 |

Depends, does it have the Pentastar or the 4 cyl.
If it’s a Penta and the price is right, I’d buy it, despite having stellar credit, cash to buy it outright, and not needing a new car.

Hell, I’d buy a 3.6 Avenger.
They’re quick, handle well for an econo sedan, and are actually quite comfortable.

Exclusive Avenger from movie. 1/2 of 2018 year model SUPER RARE!
Low miles (4000). Pristine condition with minor and expected wear (transmission wore off, slips into reverse on highway) and tiny wear (seat fabric color rubs into clothes.)
Just testing the waters. No tire kickers or low ballers. I know what I have.

I c an’t put myself in your shoes. At all.
To elaborate how far our viewpoints are, in this same metaphor, I am a one legged midget and you are a centipede . Our shoes cannot fit interchangeably.

It’s all relative.
Compared to a Civic or a Corolla, they are far quicker, far more comfortable, and quite fun to drive in V6 trim.

I look at cars like these objectively and have actually driven them to form an opinion instead of going off whatever magazine/internet BS spouted everywhere.
They are extremely fun cars to drive in V6 guise, handling well while still riding good, capable of 14s in the quarter bone stock, and IMO better looking than their bland competition.

Oh I see.
In that case, it's a fair assessment. But I'm not a fan of the design or reliability.

The 3.6/6-speed combo will easily go 200k+ without worry, assuming you maintain it properly. It’s the 4 cyl that had issues, mainly with tuning on the trans, which is easily remedied by a quick reflash.
After owning a new Toyota years ago and having friends with new Hondas and Subarus , I’ll take my chances with the Mopar, t heir cars make my 24yo Mopars look like pillars of reliability.
